Colorado River Level Walkthrough

Purpose: Sample level walkthrough for FPS game. To start using SketchUp in a professional setting.
Description: I created a level in SketchUp and a walkthrough document near the beginning of my Game Design education at FutureGames (Fall 2014). The goal was for the player to climb a canyon in an interesting way.

What I would change for next time:
I was advised to show the level design concept step-by-step, so I separated all areas into their own sections of the document. If I were to redo this project, I would section together similar types of gameplay, such as sections 5-7, which are focused on combat in different rooms of a cave. Those areas could be combined into one section. While I gave conscious consideration to the pacing of the level and aimed to vary the gameplay, I didn’t show my thought process in the documentation. I would include a graph to show the pacing of the level, i.e. combat, climbing, puzzle, etc, as shown below. I was inspired by games such as Tomb Raider and Uncharted, which combine story with puzzles, combat, and climbing.
